The Anna Boch Museum will be located in this Building, the Old Abbey in Mettlach.
The exposition is sheduled to open in April 2011.


The exposition will show the 140 paintings Luitwin von Boch aquired in the 1960s
for a future Anna Boch Museum
and which took over 30 years to arrive in Mettlach.

The Keramik Museum was first located in Schloss Ziegelberg.
It was initated by Luitwin von Boch and run by Dr Therese Thomas.
Dr Thomas became an Anna Boch expert over the years.

The Museum was the second most visited Museum in the Saarland,
with 40,000 visitors per year
right after the Saarland Museu
m, Saarbruecken.

It was a cultural highlight
for the entire Saar Lor Lux region
attracting visitors and ceramics lovers from far away.

The museum was closed in 1993 and reopened in 1995 in the impressive Old Abbey building.
It is located next to the "Expo Keravision"
and the showroom of the present sanitary and tile collection.

In April 2011 a permanent Anna Boch exposition
will be inaugurated in this Building.
A building that Anna Boch and her brother Eugene
used to know when they where children
visiting their grandfather Jean Francois Boch that lived there.
